The paint is the same style as the Adams/Wayre/Mulligan car but not quite the same (plus they ran a four port Hilborn--I wonder why? :) )

Yep, I am pretty sure that this later became Rick "Surf" Stambaugh's New Generation entry on the east coast.

If that is a brand new Ford wagon in the background, yes--1965 and probably when Glenn Stokey was still driving as Jeep Hampshire was still in the Magi-Car at that time (plus the paint job was reversed in all of the pix that I have seen of Jeep in this car).

This may be Merek Cherktow. The paint design on the helmet does match any photos that I have found but the colors appear to. I also checked to see if it may be Leroy Goldstein but he used a plain white helmet in the dragster. The fact that Kalitta is in the other lane with the Cammer engine points to Cherktow as he only drove the car for a single year after Dan Westerdale quit and the time lines align.

  13. Isn't Merek Cherktow on the HAMB? I believe you are correct, it is him.

A little too close to the fence for LIONS, San Gabe or Fontana. 'BIG' raced everywhere in those days. The white pipe will eventually give us the answer. Maybe.
