IMG_0388.PNG 55 Olds 88 with a 9" and Speedway rear disc set up.

The factor bump stop will hit the emergency brake cable.

I wracked my brain trying to think of a bolt on solution, and all I can come up with is to fab a "bridge" over the cable. If this would work, I can shorten the rubber on the OE stop.

As my sketch hopefully shows, I'd like to capture the bridge piece under the axle u-bolts. The bridge height is about 1 1/2".

Is this not a good idea? If the curved area fits the axle nice it shouldn't affect the u-bolt to axle strength, correct?

I would say it depends on your horsepower.

Actually about 400hp 4l65E and 350:1 rear. If I keep at least the same amount of radial contact on the axle tube it should provide the same clamping force, no?
