Just found out today that, an old friend and founding member of the Beat Farmers, Buddy Blue p***ed away at his home in La Mesa, CA. Not much of a car guy, but his music was sure a constant presence (and always will be) in my garage. Always a controversial fellow, but that was his charm.

I lift my whiskey gl*** to you my friend. Be sure to say hey to **** for Shawna and I. I already miss you.

  2. You've got to be kidding! Buddy was a great man, a good friend and one hell of a musician, Godspeed Buddy.

Bummer. This is a great loss. RIP, Buddy Seigel, not around nearly long enough.

The memorial service is scheduled for Friday the 7th at noon. I just booked my flight. I recentlyy took the vintage Beatfarmer sticker off of my shoebox cause it was getting a little funky, gonna put the one I had been saving back on and drive it over in his honor...

Buddy used to write music critic columns for the OC Weekly. Under his real name, Seigal. I might be the most opinionated jerk about music in the world and I always agreed with Buddy. He was an interesting, well rounded guy. His last column ran last week. I had wondered why he had become an infrequent contributer to the paper. I had hoped it was because he was booked and playing his *** off. Didn't know he wasn't well. I'll miss him.
