I am stumped as to the relay that controls the top. I have switched to 12 volts so I ***umed that I would need one from a 56. However, I can find no supplier that shows one, 6 or 12V. I wonder if it really makes a difference as to 6 or 12V. Wonder if I can use the original. Anyone have any info regarding this?

if it is similar to power window relay it will be a constant use relay.mine is 6 volt so no help with part #.if you search cole hersee catalog I am pretty sure they list one.that is if by relay you mean the solenoid type relay

It is not the same relay as a power window. I have searched all the catalogs with no luck.

A 6V relay will hold the 12V all day long, but I hope you have a 12V motor. or motors depending

Can you use a voltage reducer before the relay is powered?

I wonder if the 6 volt switch would also work with 12 volts to it? I do have a 12 volt pump.

Thanks to Rich [Texas57] posting this over on the 57fordsforever forum showing that 57's used no relays I can see that I can use the universal 12V top switch that I purchased to operate the pump motor. I wondered why those switches all the top guys sell were 50 amp.
