The streets were lined with Elm trees. Dutch Elm disease came through in the 60s and wiped them all out, all around the country. The streets are just starting to look like that again. Don't miss shoveling snow. Sno-Blowers are a great invention. Maybe they had them back then, but they weren't too common.
