    It looks like at one time this car was owned by Jim Lattin. By chance does anyone know him? thanks

    Not a USAC champ car and the 2 speed transaxle suggests it probably wasn't built as a road racer, and the lack of roll cage tells me it wasn't a supermodified. Back in the mid 60s there were a few (very few) rear engine cars that ran as sprint cars with just the single hoop roll bar. Serg Tesolin's IMCA car comes to mind.

    The late Mike Burnett (worked under Duntov at GM Research) also built a rear engine sprint car, Roger Ward drove it a couple of times. I never saw the car or photos so have no idea if this might be it.
