may be a simple question and a simple answer here; Putting together a sbc for a build I'm doing,I need to run a power steering pump and an alternator of course. Looking to run a short water pump. Now what can I search for brackets for the power steering pump, crank pulley, water pulley, alternator bracket that all will work together? I'm not looking for chrome or anything. Just want to get some brackets going. (Power rack) so I need to run a pump. Sorry if it's a dumb question
I used Bill's Hot Rod Parts on my Fordor. Top quality, fair price and plenty of options, black, chrome, etc. The brackets come with all hardware and even some shims to help with alignment, and they work with readily available pulleys whether OEM or aftermarket.
Even though this stuff was garden variety and pretty easy to find for years, now it's become more difficult to find, at least quickly and in complete and matching order. Alan Grove always had a good system. http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/Small_Block_Short_Pump.htm
Wow his stuff seems expensive! 100!? Like stated above I thought this stuff used to just be throw away
The corvettes used them up in the 80s and there were a lot of them sold. The P/S pump mount may or may not work.
One thing to keep in mind is if you are using an 8 inch harmonic balancer, the correct oem power steering pump mounts are VERY hard to find. I think they are being reproduced. I found an NOS GM mount years ago.
Fabricate your own. I have nothing but time in mine... Sent from my SCH-I535 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Another vote for Bill's HotRod brackets--fit well-no issues. Have installed at least 7 sets on small blocks.
