Yep. Can still remember getting a Soda and a Sickers bar at the concession window as a teenager and seeing the Over the Hill Gang nostalgia races. One car that stuck with me was the Krazy Horse II Willys when it was still all white with the funky ribbon paint, Halibrands and an injected L88?

This isn't the same car, first version but a neat pic from Beeline that ShakeyPuddin55 had posted a few years back on one of the Willys threads.

Also, the early racing slicks thread got me thinking about Moxley again and I did a quick check to see where the building may have stood at 1527 East Van Buren.

Bill Rowe and Krazy Horse are still around. He has pretty much retired and so has the Willy's. It has been in the enclosed trailer for years. He told me the last time I talked to him that it could be mine for $80,000

  5. I was taking a little trip down 'memory lane' on this thread when I came across this post of mine from 5-6 years back. Little would I know that 4 years later, while visiting Dean Turk that I would learn that this car still exisits. It is now in my collection undergoing restoration. small world. I did not remember posting this.

Saw it a few years ago and was quoted a similar price. Never met Bill the one time I made it over to his place but know his son through a mutual friend. Still a great car but would love to see it looking like it use to and with an axle up front.

This really caught my eye when we went in the house, Bizarro!

I have a pretty horrible memory and scan through it once in a while if not just to avoid posting the same thing twice. That car probably couldn't have found a better caretaker.

One more before I go to bed. Discussed previously in this thread but I think this is Read Mullan Ford when Al Casey a.k.a Lonesome Long John Roller spent 244 days going for a pole sitting record in a Ford doing radio shows and even recording a couple songs in 1958.

Car circled with what looks like a shadow under it is right about where it would have been.

Lonesome Long John's Flagpole Rock. Note label address is Read Mullan Ford.

    Hay Mamma.

Something to ponder if you ever find yourself at some hoity toity event at the Herberger Theater that's there now. Some guy was probably singing to himself and peeing in a bucket just above your head at one time.

Found a program for the 1964 Bobby Ball Memorial 200 at P.I.R. at the swap meet. Has mention of older tracks and racing history on pages 8-10. Sorry if some of the pages scanned a little crooked.

Found this 8 x 10 photo in an antique store. Must have been part of a promotion? Read Mullan Ford, 16 St. and Camelback. Think it later became Mel Clayton Ford then demoed a few years ago to become Camelback Toyota. Was a real neat looking showroom elevated a bit from ground level. Remember a white 50s T bird sitting in the window not too long before it being tore down.

Stopped by Ed Smith's last Friday and got a few pics.

    On the wall.

Has Chauvin Emmons Watson nosed Indy inspired T stashed away and showed me a few old photos.
Forgot a current pic but looks no different than previous images I've put on this thread.

Off to the show on matching trailer behind Rivi.

Fresh yellow paint by young Ronnie Olmstead at rear.

Backside. Car today is still sitting on same tires, probably same air too.
    unnamed (8).jpg

Not sure where this is, me or Chip should get Ronnie to fill in some details. Ed says Yellow may have helped get the car an award?

Original injected Olds motor rebuilt and waiting to be put back in.

Also just caught the tail end of the Arizona Drag Racers Reunion after work yesterday.

One of my favorite things to see at these events, J.R. Bloom's pics. Wish I could see every vintage image he took all in one place. Never seem to have enough time to take in just the ones he brings out for display.

Gotta get over to Ronnie's on Tuesday or Wednesday, I'll bring my computer and ask. He did tell me of Chauvin taking the car over to the Winternationals show one year though, so I'd bet then.'
