They re-pop them for about $500 a side. Try posting a want-ad over on the Ford Barn. I watch eBay for parts all the time, deals come up but you need to strike with the speed of a cobra.

As far as repops go, I can only relate my experience with Dennis Carpenter reproduction pieces. I bought two outside stock mirrors for another project and never used them. They sat indoors in my house closet and within 3 months were showing some pitting that wasnt there when bought. Same with two door handles. Had some plating done by Pauls plating (window trim) about 6 months ago, not yet installed, but in unclimatized storage. Still looks perfect. I believe whoever makes these repops just flash chromes the pieces. Now, is it cheaper to buy the repops and then send them to a real plating service( wont have to pay the high labor needed to get pot metal ready for plating) or buy used and pay the labor to refinish? I'll send mine to a local plating company I've recently used. Pauls did great work, and not that much more expensive than local, but Pauls took over 3 months to do all pieces. I was told they only have one man that does stainless, so he stays backlogged. Tough call sometimes.

I have new outside door handles on my car, hope the chrome holds up. I still have the old ones and I can send them out. What is an approx. price on chroming a door handle?

They are not 56 parking lights, but there is a pretty good looking set for 54 on ebay. #381972804221

Unsure what the price would be,I never had mine replated, going to eliminate them. it would really depend on how much work it takes to fill/finish before plating, which in your case there would be very minimal work. If you can get to a nearby Plating service, that quote would be pretty close. I sent some good pictures to my local guy for a rough quote on my window trim and that was the actual price. Myself, I would plate the new ones you have, if they start pitting, etc. If you dont dis***emble them, most likely they will charge for the time to do it. Hope your chrome holds up well and this isnt needed

It's getting hard to find good used ones, most are cracked or broken around the lower mounting holes. I was lucky, found one excellent original one and another that was rechromed; after 8 years is still good as new. I have seen good cores at swaps recently, prices ranged from $50 to $100 each. I don't know what the cost is to rechrome.

If they have been up a while try offering them a lower amount. I have an extra set but they are cores and would need to be rechromed.

There still on the other 56 wagon I have. I'll try to get them off soon and get you some pics. I also have a set of back up light housings if you're interested.

Cost to rechrome outside door handles is 100 bucks each here in Norcal.
I've had nothing but BAD luck with reproduced parts.
And yes, most aftermarket parts are "flash chromed" & won't last long.
Better to bite the bullet & get the originals rechromed.

You can still find NOS door handles for much less than $100.
OTH, you will be hard pressed to find good parking lamp housings for less than the cost of the rechrome.
I'm still hoping to some day find a set of NOS lamps. Most of the pot metal I've had rechromed in the past hasn't lasted more than 10 years without pitting again.
