I dont care much for a lot of Bailon's work, But Joe's "Widow" is probably one of the best customs ever done

Joe Manieri was one of the finest cutomizers in the East back about 10-20 years ago. Built some FINE machines, the "Angel Eyes" 51 Merc, Joel Sheippe's peach pearl 52 Olds, and others. Built cars all by himself in PA.
I think the stress of building high quality cars got to him. He's semi-retired, just delivering paint for an auto body store. He still does work on friends cars, sometimes, but has not taken on any projects in a long time.
    What a shame!
I know someone who still sees him al the time. Not sure if I should say, though, seems he wants privacy.

I've seen a couple Bailon cars that are nice, but this one was ugly when he did originally. I agree.

  5. i will second that. personally it is gaudy. but there are enough mercs out there, that the goober didn't have to **** with something kind of original (as it sounds like it has had many iterations)

though, it could be considered just another phase in the life of a custom...till the next owner comes along and...
