Very nice, I have copied your idea. Do you have any finished pics? I am now contemplating the piping!

  2. Yes - I had them on another thread - but here are some copies (at least you can get the idea). I didn't try to lay them out and give all the details of how I made the lines. I 'punted' just a bit in that I wanted to make 1/2" hard stainless lines - just didn't have a good enough tubing bender to do them - so that is a job for another day!

Note: It takes awhile to pump oil and fill the filter - I may come up with a 'pre-oiler' to pump pressurized oil into the system when I change the filter. Of course, it isn't like I put a lot of miles on it - so it isn't that often. When you first install it, pull the plugs, kill the ignition and crank it over until you have oil on the output side and oil pressure registering - then start the engine. Also, leave the top OFF the filter cannister and watch for leaks - as it is hard to tighten the filter and if it leaks - it fills that ****er up FAST and makes a Hell of a mess - as I've managed to do twice now! I now have a 'filter wrench' that fits the case and makes the tightening operation a bit easier.

    Hope this helps!

  3. Hey dale where did you get those studs for your intake???

roll of the dices likes this.
  4. These are either ARP or ones from McMaster (which are probably ARP). They are not cheap, but how often am I going to use them! LOL (Plus, I like the hex/allen key ends). Then I bought the threaded acorn nuts from another place - as I decided to get all 'bling bling' with it - to match the heads. Must have been bored at the time.

  5. Roger that. Thank you. I used some lame bolts and don't like it so I'm gonna have to copy you.:)

  6. Yeah, I used to do the same thing - even had the originals plated on one engine . . . always looked like **** in the end. This is the first time I've used acorns on an intake - WTF, I kind of like it!

Dale what's the current status of the Eddie Meyer heads since you couldn't run them, are your eyes peeled for another original pair to try again I wonder?
And yes your intake is the best looking.

Dale, on your filter tightening issue, you may want to look into a K&N version of the filter you have. many of them have a hex spot welded to the bottom of the filter so you can use a socket to tighten and loosen it.

  9. I will check it out. Things are very tight in the cannister - not sure there is room for the 'added height'. I'm running a WIX filter in it now. Seems happy at the moment! LOL
