I don't see the missing cap but I see the can that has 2 caps. Maybe borrow the one that isn't on real tight?

The other one I hate, is when you have to change the vacuum cleaner belt that you just changed 10 years ago. You know they always come 2 in a bag... now where the heck is that other belt!:)

It's natures way of compensating for the wisdom of old age. Right around the time you get to where you know everything, you can't remember any of it.:p:rolleyes:

You know I was just thinking of the sarcastic little chuckles that happen when you find what your looking for...I know I laugh things off many times especially if its under my big nose. It really is the best medicine.

The other day I was telling a colleague at work that some A-hole took the vacuum and didn't return it. I said they could of at least left a note. So I'm readying another vac and there it is sitting where I left it the day before(not in the normal spot but right there). So enter that chuckle to thyself and I tell my colleague I know who the A-hole is and she asked who? Yeah you know the end to that story...Me...Da Gremlin

So, have you guys been coming into my shop to take my stuff when you can't find your own? Then, I'll bet your bringing it back after you find your stuff, ain't ya?

That might explain why I can't find stuff all the time, then find it later! It can't possibly be all about me misplacing stuff! Right?

Tools are a funny thing at my shop. My workbenches tend to be a storage location for stuff I just know I'm going to need some day (if only I can find it that day I need it), so tools and such tend to blend right into the mix. Lately, my son, and his nephew, have been doing a lot of stuff at my shop, so now there are 3 of us using my tool box. I have specific drawers and spots on a wall pegboard to hold specific tools, but the young guys can't seem to remember what drawer, or where on the pegboard the tools they use came from. As one can imagine, when I need a tool, not only do I need to deal with where I last used it or put it, but also where one of them may have used it, or put it. Some days, all 3 of us are working on different projects, those days are interesting.

It may sound goofy to some of you, but if I really need to find something, I send up a little prayer "Lord, I really need to find this, help me please." and in short order it appears! Then I thank God for his help. Gene

  13. HAHAHA 3 pages long and counting. I have tons of wrenches because I have a habit of taking the wrench with me to get something else and then leaving it there.........never to be found again that day. I gave up and just buy more wrenches at swapmeets for a few bucks each (old USA ones of course) and then clean the garage at the end of the week.

  16. I do it more and more, at work, in the house, in the garage.. advanced CRS. I lose pieces of paper and turn the house upside down to find it. Most of the time it gets mixed in with something else. I've had to go and buy more than 1 replacement part 'cause I was not able to find what was in my hand 2 minutes ago.

  17. I knew a couple of stoners back in the day that were into VWs and Porsches. They made some great stuff. I had talked with one after they got done buttoning up an engine... looked on the bench and there was a brand new bearing shell winking at them. Ohhhh... apart it comes. All bearing parts were in the engine. Whoever packaged the new bearings tossed in an extra shell.

    Always have things 'walk away'
    But
Lately after a return from the Toy Store (HF), I put away my new 'treasure' to find the same tool that I bought at the last sale,,, oh well, I'll lose one of them anyway,,,,,,,,,,,

When I started tearing apart my 47, next to my shed, I lost a socket that I needed. I think the whole weekend went by of me looking. I happened to be walking by the car one day and glanced down towards the front of the car, and there it was. I think I looked in that spot a dozen times.

Well, that is one problem I don't have, if I take my glasses off, I almost can't see. If I take them off, I hold them in my hand until I put them back on.
I also learned a long time ago that if I take my watch off, I put it in my pocket. Then when I discover its not on my wrist, I still have it with me. Gene

That's so funny and true I was an electrician for 40 years and troubleshooting a problem with a circuit or motor relay etc. if you find the problem its the last place you need to look.

Once you get started, all you lack is finishing up, right?
