May not be Hurst specific but by my memory.
White, black, yellow, orange, chrome, even wooden ones.

I had FOUR of the Hurst Auto Stick 1's, but one went with 51 Chevrolet Business Coupe when I sold it (mistake), a NOS 3 speed Hurst Synchro-Loc WITH the mounting kit for the 3-speed WITH overdrive transmission (Muncie 319 trans). I also have FOUR of the Hurst Synchro-Loc shifter "towers" with different curved/length handles. I do have some other "brand' shifters (Ansen) for a couple of different applications. We all collect stuff for projects, and future projects, some of which never come to be, or get finished, and then we're left with "parts". One of these days, one of these days! I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

DirtyDave: original Hurst knobs after the 2 piece type came in white, black, red, and blue. In rare "fuzzy" type, they came in gold, black, red, and blue. Wood knobs only came on "bug" shifters and brown fake wood ones came factory on '68-'69 Road Runners. I have always been kind of a freak for old Hurst goodies:

    Roger that bowie!
And not just all the hoarded wall hangings either;). Love to see the installed shifters too. Originals, custom modified, anything you got Hurst related.
I've been a Hurst junkie since I put that first (used) Syncro-Loc shifter in my 61 Impala in 1969.

Can you take a closeup shot of that Syncro/Loc display showing the two shift patterns.
Also some closeups of the installation sheet if you have it.
I still don't understand why my 61's levers (Hurst) would not clear the floorpan when mounted with pivot at top. I was able to flip them but the pattern was different from those shown on the display. As I said I bought it used so not 100% sure of included components.

After finally tiring of all the problems I was having with the flimsy stamped out thin metal pieces in the Jeep 4 speed shifter mounted on a Toploader Ford trans failing under "enthusiastic" shifting, I changed my '31 Hiboy over to a stock Toploader with a Falcon tail housing , a shift rod kit for a Falcon that I bought from Dan Williams, and a Hurst shifter unit that a friend had from a car he had bought and used parts of in another build. So the shifter unit itself is used, but doesn't appear worn out. In fact it seems sorta too tight to me.
Another friend who has a helluva lot more experience with Hurst stuff than me said to not oil the shifter unit, that it would attract dust and cause problems. But the shifter seems to be getting stiffer and stiffer as time goes on. I took a spray can of "Dry Slide" moly spray and soaked it down, since the liquid all evaporates, leaving the moly powder, but this hasn't helped.
Anybody ever use any sort of oil or other lube on a Hurst shifter?

Best lube for a Hurst Shifter is Hurst shifter lube and I don't know if they still make it, call them or Summit/Jegs and ask..2nd best I don't know maybe extreme pressure lube from CMD..White lithium grease does well but for a very short time..

Here is the pic of the display[IMG]

The shifter itself has always confused me. Here is a pic of the side of it[IMG]

Now for the weird part, I can’t see the pin or anything else for switching patterns [IMG]

You and me both, I never even knew they were a dual pattern shifter.
Did you by any chance remove that dust shield?
I did a Google image search and found this.
Click "all" for text version, this includes the various HAMB threads on Hurst shifters.
I'm still weeding through it, thought if a person followed the various patent numbers it might show changes after that first YoYo shifter came out.
    How cool are these promos.
