Cool, thanks for the reply! No issues at all? Still have the car?

The problem with the one you want to use is when you shift into high gear it immediately locks up converter. I use the Ron Francis set up as it is adjustable and works like the factory set up. My clients love them.

AH that one probably won't work for me. I was planning on using a gps speedo. I currently don't have a speedo cable and wasn't really planning on adding one...

I'm just finishing installing TCI's version here. It's a wiring kit only, ***umes your trans has everything in it that's supposed to be there. Turns out mine had the wiring harness removed at some point in its life, cut off at the TCC lockup solenoid. Had to buy a new solenoid. Has a couple of wiring options, depending on how you want it to work. Wiring, vacuum, and external mounting of the vacuum switch are up to you.

I looked at the Painless kit. Cost twice as much. Includes the solenoid. So in the end might have cost about the same. Seems more complete, though, including a firewall mounting bracket for the vacuum switch.

Neither includes a power source or directions for one, which I thought was odd for Painless. TCI is a bit more DIY, so less surprising there. Painless is more inclusive, so I found it weird for their directions to end with "provide a fused power source".

Dont need the cable, just the speedo gear bullet from trans.

  8. Just add a toggle switch to the feed wire. Just use the l/u for actual highway driving, not around town.

As Mark said above. I run a lock up internal switch similar to what you have. Splice a switch in the 12V feed to trans. Works perfect. I usually don't use lock up until 55 or faster. It still unlocks by itself as you slow down. And run a good trans cooler.

We use the TCC control from Bowler Transmission. Very simple to install. One wire hook up to the trans control module that you plug into the trans case connector and a TCC/brake switch. Applies TCC 8 seconds after 4th gear and will disengage when applying the brakes. No vacuum/electric switch or speedo needed. You do have to change the solenoid in the trans.
Kit comes with everything needed and is around $190.00

Local trans guy will only do your 700r if you agree to use the Bow tie set up.

I used the toggle switch mentioned above, worked great with no issues.
