Looking great! Your going to love driving that. Let's put this cold thing in perspective, another winter chinook here so sunny and about 60F, so was in the big ****ty to buy rug and curtains(don't get more masculine than that)for the cabover today, seen a few people wearing shorts and lots in t-shirt's. Crazy . Just kidding Blue, I would imagine living at the al***ude your at could get real cold.

I live on the side of a 6000' mountain and it does blow . Usually the humidity is 10 percent or lower today its 90+ . Oh well will be in 80s by mid next week .

Is it just me , it seams like the small things take for ever . I got the window Chanel felt in today . I wanted to use pop rivets so I needed to use some spacers to make sure the rivets bottomed out . 2 little nuts worked great . Got the sound deadner in and the window risers in . The reason I went with the power window is because of the dash . Tomorrow I'm going to blast a bunch of interior parts , including the dash . And will paint them Monday. Blue

Skier , the motors are OEM Delco . Kit is a Nu ? brand . I'll have to get the name for you . They were for a 41 pickup and all I had to do was clock the motor over to work in the cut out for the hump in the door .
Been painting all the little pieces that go in the cab . What a pain that is , lots of sanding and painting then turning over . Youaget the picture. Missed a lot of spots . Don't have good light in that side of the shop .
    IMG_1494.JPG IMG_1496.JPG IMG_1497.JPG
Did the filler on the dash yesterday and did the epoxy and high build primer this afternoon. Will need to blend a little more .

Skier , the co is Nu Relics . They have a web site and are really easy to deal with . Told them it was for a COE and helped with the clocking . Not real cheap but what is these days . All USA parts and built .
Want to get the dash painted so I can put in my gauges and finish wireing so I can start and drive n and out of the shop . Really tired of pushing and steering with out power . Had her outside today . Blue

b-bop , I'm using Cl***ic 57 Chevy 3 gauge with the speedometer with tack and two other in it . The two outside holes I'm going to try and adapt to ac vents . Maybe have it done by the end of the month.
Glad your starting to work on yours again . Blue

  13. By the looks of it I'm using the same window motors, I didn't use a kit but the motors were late 90s Buick. I got very lucky and fit the motors in place of the original crank, gear teeth were the same pitch, IMG_3050.JPG so there was just some cutting to fit the motor at the right depth

Hey Steve, if those v grips or your door handle , I think I some left over Chevy truck interior handles your welcome to . Pm me if you need them . Blue

  15. LOL! That looks pretty rat roddy doesn't it? I don't have my interior sorted yet so I don't know what I'll use for door handles. Did anyone realize the thing the vicegrips are locked on is the spindle from a Harbor Freight hand grinder?

The hose and fitting were from Jegs Or Summit . They are push on made for a PS system . If you can't find them let me know and I will try to find the receipts. Blue

Spent a week down south by BigBend National Park . Got back to work on the COE . Pulled out the dash so I could install a different AC unit and get the rest of my dynamat and dynaliner in . I moved the location of my gas pedal over and bought some spacers for my fuse box liner and the floor mat I'm going to use is 1/2" thick and padded. I wanted to space the fuse box out so it wasn't smashing in the pad . Also making brackets for Ac brace and controls for trans .
Should paint and mount dash with gauges next week . Still waiting on some parts for my windshield.

Where are you guys getting your long throttle cable?
Parts for fuse box and should space box 1/8 off flooring . IMG_1583.JPG IMG_1587.JPG
AC mounted and brace made . Needs paint . This is a smaller unit and will allow me to use the cowl vent . More latter next week . Blue

Nice work Blue. When I built mine, I made my throttle cable up using bicycle brake cable. Some bike shops sell it in bulk and you can buy what ever length you need. Br*** compression fittings worked to end the outer plastic casing at the fire wall and the engine. Some back yard engineering was involved.

Looks good. That is a compact AC unit, which one is it? I'm still trying to figure that out for mine.

My cable came from Lokar. Just give them a call and they can make any length you need...beware: cables have drag, so you need to minimize the number of bends. My cable goes forward and then makes a large arc to the back. The pedal feels funny to me, so I might try to build a simple linkage to reverse the beginning cable direction and eliminate the long arc.

I go with a throttle cable from smaller boats, I use a 12ft universal. The more money the less drag. The ones I buy are around 50 bucks. I like the finished ends and connecting hardware.

I used a lokar and have the same issue. long slow bend front and back but still has drag.

  29. Anyone though about hydraulic linkage? More or less based on a clutch system. Might be a little sluggish in very cold weather.

Well while I been waiting for it to warm up to paint and for Fed Ex , I've been working on the inside of cab . First I bought one of those headliner inserts and had to trim a lot and do a lot of shifting to get it to fit . I probably could have hammered one out faster . Oh well it came out nice .
    IMG_1600.JPG
    IMG_1609.JPG
Next I finished the most of the insulation on the floor , mat and liner . Since I have a flat floor with no trans tunnel I needed to raise up my shifter . I folded up a 16ga pan , put some nutcerts in , and punched a hole in for the cable. Turned out ok , still need to paint .

Will lay out an aluminum console and bead roll and fold to fit . Still in thought stage . Need Steves drafting table! Should have it done by this weekend.
    IMG_1612.JPG
Shouldn't have to bend over to far . Latter , Blue
