I don't usually criticize anyone's work, but the bottom of the "bed" at the front should have at least matched the curve of the door...

Sancho, I had to crack up on that one. You don't miss a thing. I looked at the picture and I didn't even notice it. I guess my subconscious assumed it was an empty pop can or hot dog wrapper or something (lol).

I know that a HAMBer built or bought and finished this car and it turned out beautiful! But part of me, I'm ashamed to say, almost liked it better when it was in primer. E

I was just looking at the same thing, and where the running boards meet the rear fenders.

 

After Aaron Lawrence put the new carpet and tuck n roll center hump in the Lavender Lady, I dropped it off to John Meyer @clean cut creations to have the hood and trunk gaps sorted out and fix the associated paint chips from the gaps being too tight. As long as the fenders were going to be repainted anyhow.....I went ahead and had him swap out the '55 Olds headlight rings for the '56's I've had sitting here forever with intentions of putting them on my Fleetline (which I sold when I got the LL). The top half of the '56 rings are taller than the '55 rings, and of course also have the peak in the top (which is why I wanted to make the switch), so it's not a quick and easy swap. Along with the rings, I had the '56 fender tops, so a wee dad of surgery ensued.... I'm totally stoked with how they are looking. Update picture from the shop this morning:

Thanks guys! I'm pretty excited about it. I was telling Mick yesterday that I have the kustom blues real bad....the Chevy's been gone since November and the Merc blew the steering box seals shortly after and I haven't had a chance to fix it (although Jimmy "Gonmad" stopped by to help me a couple weeks ago and then I drove the seals in crooked and bent it...geesh!), so, I've been without cool wheels for a while. Gettin' itchy.... lol

 

Wow, that is sharp. Going to have it done in time for the 500? Hope you are doing well (it looks like you really are!).

 

Yes sir, that's the plan anyway. Hoping to pick it up by mid April so I can have it all ready for the SK.

Maybe I need to Take another trip down to see you and we can get that thing buttoned up so you can cruise in Merc till the Magenta Mama gets back in your hands! And she is looking hot with those 56 eyelashes brother! I am really glad you decided to change them out!!
