Action Girl...the stripe work looks GREAT! You've got the touch, all right...can't wait to see you develop it more with practice!! The talent here amazes me to no end every week...keep it up, y'all!!
[ QUOTE ] I'm using an xcaliber 00 and one-shot reduced with mineral sprits at the moment. I plan to buy a mack next to see what that feels like and get a finer xcaliber as well. [/ QUOTE ] Get a Mack Series 10. They have Blue thread, the ones with the Green thread are terrible.Don't buy a Series 20. You can buy direct from www.mackbrush.com or www.pinstriper.com [ QUOTE ] The brush wants to kick out on me. [/ QUOTE ] Stand the brush up straighter and twist the handle in the direction you want to go. Twist it more than you think you need, then twist it some more. Try it.
[ QUOTE ] This is something I did on the computer just messin' around. Not sure if it really justifies as "art". Mike, recognize the car? [/ QUOTE ] Donzie this is a little weird, I was allso fooling around this morning. Pogo
Hey Guys & Gurls, What a great Friday Art Show! I love all this participation. Great art and photos, models and drawings. Brush: I got the rope around my neck and I'm ready to kick the chair. I love that montage with the RPU, '57 Ford and that 'striping. Killer! I am posting these pics of a really neat Lincoln from the Pile Up. I checked this ride out twice this past summer and I wish I had taken better pics. The reason for the pics is the awesome pinstriping. I don't know who striped it. I can't find a signature on it. I believe the car is from Crown Point,In. The stripiing is thin and consistent. It's the design that rocks. The guy has a real nice flair. Nice balance. There's alot going on in the design too. Yet, it flows nice. That's half the battle to striping. Once you learn how to pull consitent lines, it's design, design and more design that makes ya moola. This striper has great ideas. I hope ya can enjoy. The back. I love the trunk design. I wish I could come up with stuff like this. Later, Joel

Later, Joel [/ QUOTE ] Joel:Judging from the work I would venture that it was done by one of three peoplearin Allen,Tom Culbertson,or Greg Cooper. It is VERY nice work.I made them in that order because I actually think it is Darin's work.I haven't seen any of Tom's work recently but he does a lot in that vein.Coop is my last choice because he doesn't do too many shows. Here's a couple of drawings I did several years ago.I was fooling with cartoons and decided to try some minimalist stuff. The 57 Nomad was my first attempt.I think it took me about a minute to draw it.The 56 Nomad took about the same time but I thought about it for quite awhile before starting it.The other one is a pencil sketch outlined with a wide marker and then polyurethaned(to give it a parchment look)without erasing any of the guide lines.Again very little time expended.
[ QUOTE ] kustombuilder i think i have a couple of both hotwheel prints left they are 24x36 and on hevey watercolor paper. heres the other one i did for matt picalo www.badenuf.com [/ QUOTE ] Lostparts, first off nice work. I met Matt last year at the HW nationals in Cincinatti. I picked up a couple customs from him. He does very nice work. Were you the one who drew up the design for his T-shirt? later plmczy

[ QUOTE ] One last one. I dunno If I posted this or not. [/ QUOTE ] What kind of film/camera were used to take this shot? I really love the colour. ~Molly
here's a steel tiki I striped for a tat artist named Rob Struven...from garage ink in Napa...he picked it up at the cow palace last week...I'm trying to read the names of the guys who made it...looks likeeric weatherby and jason more ...
Molly.......I use a Canon Elan7 35mm. And I got lucky with that shot. A snow storm was moving in FAST! and took just a few frames before it opened up on us. I usually use fuji film. I like the color better. Those are just my opinions. Beside the film and camera are secondary........it's the eye behind the lens. Sometimes I get lucky. Mike
Alright FatLucky's...you can knock it off, now! Really nice work and I can't believe how fast you caught on to striping! Don't make me start doing upholstery work...
