RE: Trailer(s) with no suspension: i guess what i was trying to get at was, if the altered also had no suspension (or not much of one), then how did this work towing down the highway......?
Mondello & Matsubara...Marked as an A/Altered, but with a blower? Wouldn't that be AA/A, on gas, or even AAF/A , on nitro?
I went 632 miles one way to Bonneville and about 400 miles to El Mirage without springs on the trailer plenty of times. The car is sprung though. 50 some years ago I went Los Altos to Fremont lots of times with an unsprung trailer and a solid rear altered. Never had and problems. Empty the trailer was horrible to tow. Bounced all over the place.
I towed an unsprung trailer for years. Fantastic loaded, horrible empty. A mate put me onto a trick. If going any great distance empty, I'd take the wheels off the front axle and then it was great to tow. When I got to where the trailer was to be loaded I'd pulled it up onto a couple of wood blocks, put the wheels back on and run back off the blocks. A cordless rattle gun helped.
