Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by redlineracer42, Mar 31, 2017.

  1. Hey Guys, I am attempting to install new windshield rubber in my coupe. I have the gl*** in the rubber, the drivers side stainless around the window installed and taped.... I will be installing the p***enger side next and the clips which join them.... man I do NOT look forward to this battle.... any how.... do I install the center divider and tighten it up as the windshield lays flat on my bench.... or .... ya don't put it on after ya install it do ya??? I think that would be tough....

The instructions in the shop manual for my 49 Buick which has a 2 piece windshield says to put the gasket in the pinch weld first and work each gl*** into the rubber starting at the center post. Yours may be different, you should get a factory shop manual to see how to do it right.

Many Studes of that era install from the inside. Get a manual or ask on the Studebaker Drivers club forum.

Seriously... Ask over on the Studebaker Drivers' Club forum.... Tribal knowledge from the source can't be beat.

hi there, my '41 m- series pick up, you install the windows in the rubber and then rope them in place you need two people, then put the divider in,
