Has anyone ridden for any distance in some of the new bomber seats on the market? I know that the padding is a big factor and also the ride of your car. I need seats in my '32 roadster and trying to come up with some ideas. Thanks H.A.M.B.'ers for all your input on everybodys topics. Jim
I made a pair out of diamond plate aluminum for the Peter Beater. Here in Michigan, the roads ****. I drove about 10 miles last night and it put a beatin' on me (hence the name). I'm gonna put my pads on the seats next time out. (My wife made those outta foam and Jeep top material.)
I had these seats in my 32. the metal back was more comfortable than you would think. I have a bad back and had no trouble driving the car from Utah to Pennsylvania. The seat base is where you need a good cushion. Clark
Clark and Flatheadpete, Thanks for the input. I know what you mean about bad back (it's hell getting old). Did you make your seats, if so they look great. I think I will have another look at Speedways new seats. If I use them, serious padding, lumbar support and bun warmers (I have them in my wfe's Bravada and we use them all the time, even summer) as they keep you from getting stiff and sore after a long time behind the wheel. The kool thing is no one can tell if you have them and can keep trad. look. Jim
A racing supply company called Pegasus Racing has this high density seat foam that's real thin and supposed to maintain it's cushion. I'd like to use it for a project I have in mind for a future date. Pretty sur ethis is there website.... www.pegasusautoracing.com
