I had the privilege of observing the newly restored S79 only two days ago. Duncan Pittaway did a fantastic job. The axle and frame horns are streamlined with shaped wood filler pieces.

Could you put the antenna up just a little higher? That's good, now hold it...

  6. I like it but it does resemble a 1940 Dodge truck.

ROOTIE , I'm sorry I misspelled your name, I just caught it now. Everytime I typed ROOTIE with small letters it would change the T to a M . Go figure ?

It is, the car is the Scalvi and Amos Spl. that Jim Packard attempted to qualify at Indy 1960. Buster Warke was Scalvi's (Bell Trucking) head wrench and I assume Tommy H. was on the crew as well.

  21. I had a 52 Hornet once. If I'd ever seen a Hudson like that I never would let it go.

Note the addition of the "Anti-Other Guy Cannon" protruding from the left side of the nose, a short-lived new feature for 1960. By 1961, this feature was all but extinct thanks to the great shortage of un-perforated drivers.
