That drag racing champion and NHRA hall of fame member is Jack Merkel! He is also a good friend of mine who I still enjoy talking to at Riverhead Raceway!

 

I had heard that Flemington Speedway Historical Society was throwing around the idea of purchasing the property the Flemington drag strip was on and possibly reopening it. I don't know how much of that is true.

I was contacted by a family member to say Rosie had passed away. He lived a full life and had a lot of fun.
