hi old beet, thanks for the welcome, most mercs here were 39-48 type we had a very limited no of49-51 but mainly 4 door here except army officers cars-officers stationed here from u.s.a could have their family car bought out or emb***y cars were often imported coupes etc my father liked 46-48 mercs and had quite a few with twin 97s on lundberg manifold
and waggot heads (local speed parts) etc we had the whole cruising thing here too, some old cars built during ww2 are just showing up now(melbourne had a huge u.s army presence in the 40s-50s so some of the guys built cars to match although their are photos of stripped roadsters and mild customs prior to this so theres plenty of custom history here also hope this has been a little informative and not to trivial for ya thanks grant

Grant, I spent some time over there a few years ago. From Brite to Surffers. Where you from? I was impressed by so many rods there, and how much harder it is to build them. Still in touch with some of the guys, can't wait to get back.........OLDBEET

  7. Hi Grant, Welcome from an ex Melbourne man
(Rosebud, Ringwood) in EUROPE. Please post a photo of
a sunburnt car on a dried out lawn to warm us up.

  8. OK then Grant.
Computers are just for sharing information. Looks like you got the car and family part down. So you'll have to teach me.
