I have a 235 in my 57 Chevy pickup. It runs great and has never left me walking. But it used about 3 quarts of oil in the last 150 miles. So it's time for a rebuild. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get some more power out of it but still be able to tow a little Picture of the pickup Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
JJ's Inlines http://www.jjinlines.com/Blower-intake-and-plenum.html or Clifford Performance http://www.shop.cliffordperformance.net/68-Chevy-235-261-Combination-68C235.htm
Also try www.stovebolt.com website. Check the forum under HiPo. There you will find tons of info. I have a 235 in my 46 1/2 ton with a t5 5 speed and a 377 chevy rear, duel carbs and Fenton headers that I learned how to adapt to my 46 1/2 ton all from this site.
Thanks everybody. Hoping to just boost the power up a little but still driveable in the end Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Increased compression will wake up a 235. A good way to bump the compression is to deck the block. I decked my 235 to the top of the pistons. The gasket provides the necessary piston to head clearance. This provides a better quench situation than milling the head only. Good compression and reduced tendency for detonation. I also adapted an HEI ignition, used a mild cam and a progressive 2 bbl carb. It's a strong running 235. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
