"In May of 1963, the designers in the Advanced Cadillac Studio were working on ideas for a V-16 roadster. Full size, air brushed renderings like this example were based on small sketches and could take two or three days to produce."

not quite. As stated, Packard built Merlins under license once Rolls Royce suggested fitting a pair of Mustang I's with Merlin 65's and noted the exceptional performance. These were not minimal changes - not only the nose but the structure and cooling ducting was changed. The Allison-powered Mustangs were no slouches below 11,000 feet.

Packard also made many improvements to the Merlin to make it easier to build - changes Rolls did later.

This book covers this and much more:

I have done a lot of extensive research into how the L'Universal was ever built . At one time , 1978 in Houston , I had constructed a 1-1 clone of the body . I have only a 1-25th scale model any longer as I could never find a suitable transaxle . On the prototype , a special version of the Pontiac Tempest was experimented with . The power plant was indeed , a Pontiac 289 V-8 GMC L Universalle van rear view - door closed.jpg

Aw come on Bomb, your killing me! I'll bet there wasn't one housewife in the neighborhood that thought she was good looking and their husbands probably "agreed".
