  3. I had to make a double-take on this. I thought it was a Hudson at first but then saw there were the wrong letters on the hood. Then I read the caption,"1949 Plymouth concept car from 1946". So much for reading things in order.

  9. This reminds me of my childhood for some reason. My Mom and Dad were young, we had a 1949 Chevy 4 door. Every guy on our street was a WW2 veteran, I was a small child, we had vacant lots and room too play. Baseball and kick the can.
    .Little traffic.
It was quiet and DARK at night, you could see the stars!
AND, we had a small airport across the street!! Now that was cool!
The last of the area farms was behind us, our yard trees were from orchards planted in the 1880's. Still a few Herefords wandering around the field.
    Milwaulkie Oregon, Ardenwald area.
It's ALL gone now, all of it, I'm 64, brother is 70 , folks long gone. Airport became housing in 1959, my old school torn down.Somebody else lives in our house.
Makes me kind of melancholy. Don't have any idea who this couple is, but they were AMERICA in those days!
