could someone tell me the difference between 36 and 37 up ford spindles, seems all the adds for disc brakes are 37 up, the car has disc brakes from po so I am ***uming they are 37 or later but I want to replace them with a smaller setup to clear a 14" wheel.
    Thanks

37-41 will be round back, 36-earlier will have straight sides with round top and bottom. 42-48 are square back

Even though 37 - 41 axles are different from 36 axles I was always under the impression that the spindles were the same. Maybe not?
I thought 35 and 36 had round back spindles

On the '36 and earlier spindles the bolt pattern for the backing plates is rectangular, on the later spindles, the bolt pattern is square. If you're wanting disk brakes that will accept a 14" wheel you may want to put that info in your ***le.

The difference in the 35 and 36 spindles is pretty much that the 36 uses the stub axle from the 37-up rather than the longer 28-35 early stub axle. That 36 spindle is not on ALL 36 but was a running change sometime during the production year.
