Well after a lot of thought back and forth I have decided to go 12 Volt with my 31 Ford roadster with an 8BA in it. I am pretty certain the stock starter can handle it and since I am wiring from scratch I will change out all my bulbs. Not many in a 31 Model A so it will be relatively easy. What this means is that I need an alternator. Has anyone used the one wire GM chrome alternators that Speedway sells??? A plain alternator is just so ugly and I can't afford those new ones that are hidden in a generator case nor do I have the room for one with my dual carb set up.

Any feedback will be appreciated. Thank you.

I've use a couple of them on my A powered cars with no issues over the past 8 or 10 years.

I had them on 2 different HotRods, both for 7+ years, no problems, have another one on my Mercury 4 years, again no problems.
