    Hi guys.
Apparently my rear brake hose collapsed and the brakes locked up while out on a ride Easter Sunday. By the time I got home, man - you shoulda smelled it. And I shoulda taken a picture... a lot of smoke was emanating from those rear pads. Impressive.

Anyway - now that I need to replace them - was wondering if anyone has a source of steel braided brake lines for the rear of my 1950 Plymouth.

    Thanks!
    ~M.

Yes, I know I can get them custom, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a good existing source for my vehicle.

What's wrong with a new OEM style hose?

It would appear that the current one lasted 67-years. How long are you planning on keeping this thing?

Thought most of the braided hose had to have AN adapter fitting to make them work.

    meezy -

Being that, "most" people don't drive 50 Plymouth's...
Why don't you measure your current hose and...do your own search ?

Yes, Gimpy, I suppose I will die one day...
...but for the record, I don't think the one that died was OG.

Thanks, for the smug insight, Mike. That's what I'd planned to do if nobody said, "this guy made some for me - he was great and quick." I'll think twice before asking next time, though!

Thank you. I'm in Brooklyn and don't have a lot of experience or knowledge of suppliers of such products. I'd really appreciate getting info about someone you've worked with than trying my luck randomly with some vendor of unknown quality or reputation.

Geez, I've only rear brakes on my LSR roadster with a hand operated Willwood master cylinder and I use an OEM hose from the residual valve to the spring mounted rear. I'm with gimpy....

Alright, Jimmy. Thank you... maybe it's overkill... I've just had people suggesting different things to me and am trying to take the best course. But that's why I came here - to hear the opinions of the hambers. Thanks.
