    HI:
I'm Looking for people that have a Mid to Late 1930's Car. And here's what I'm looking for I'm doing research on the Milwaukee Ford plant. And I think I found what the Letter Code was for that Plant.

But I need your Help to prove it as it was actually the Letter "R".
So what I need you guy's to do is to look at your Ford Body Plate and see if it starts with a "R" Letter and if it does get a hold of me. As you might have a Car that was made in the Milwaukee Ford Plant.

But your Car has to have the do***entation in other words you need the history of the Car. And there's several ways that you can do that you can do that if you need to know and how to do that.

Get a hold of me and I will tell you what you will need to have to get it do***ented so you can get it added to the List I have. Reason being I need to have at least 25+ Cars with the "R" Stamped in there car or on the Body Plate.

So I can prove that the Letter "R" is actully the Letter Code for the Milwaukee Ford Plant as No one knows what it is. Or ever has known what it was and now maybe I have found it once and for all.

And it would be nice to get the Letter code for the Milwaukee Plant for everyone to know what it is.

    Let me know Reggiedog

Can you tell us where the plant was or for how many years it was in operation? Just a body plant?

I can't help with your question, but the building is still there, it's been well taken care of over the years, 2185 N. Prospect.

My grandfather worked as a machinist in the building when it belonged to GM. He called it AC Sparkplug as it had a big AC Sparkplug painted on the south side of the building overlooking the railroad tracks. They were doing government contract work there.

Good info, I knew it as an AC building, not knowing about AO Smith & Ford. Best wishes on your search.

Yes, John That was for the Model A's Only as that Plant was open until 1942 as that's the year that it changed hands and they made cars and Trucks in there as I have been told tell 1939 or 1940. But I think that went longer then that but that's what I'm trying to find out now.

The only Ford marking which might indicate which plant a car was ***embled at in the late 20's to 1932 was a letter on the front sub rail, right in front of the seat. My 32 sedan has DM 180 on it's sub rail crossmember, meaning it was the 180th tudor sedan built in Des Moines that year.

There is no "plate" with any of these type of production numbers except for Murray built bodies like 3 windows. And those bodies came from another location.

I've got a 40 sedan, and it also doesn't have any plate indicating where it was built. But it's floor was rusty so I can't tell you if it had an ***embly plant initial stamped into the bare floor.

According to my reference book the "R" code refers to Richmond, California – Opened in August 1931 and replaced San Francisco.

Milwaukee,Wisconsin was a ***embly plant and not designated as a manufacturer, therefore no letter designation.

If any letter designation were used it most likely would be that of the ***embly plant and in this case it would almost have to be WI. HRP

  18. You are asking for information and then you are saying that the information is incorrect because you say that it is incorrect.

You are confusing ***embly plant with manufacturing plant. To be considered a manufacturing plant the pieces had to be made on site not just ***embled on site.

I got my information from the henry ford archives, but you know everything so I will politely add your name to my ignore list so there is no reason to waste your time asking me for help,it will fall on deaf ears!

Evidently know everything so I question exactly why the HELL are you asking The Ford Barn and The HAMB for their help and then when do you tell them they are wrong!

Will your reporting Beeno go ahead and report me too. HRP
