This has been on my mind for about a year now. With all the shows that they do on cable and one being Discovery Channel, some of them are **** in my mind but, whom am I to say about others tastes, right. Here is the deal. The HAMB has become worldwide and recognized that it deserves to have a history of it and how it all became and got going and what it is today. The best source of people and knowledge to those that are willing to give their input in answering others problems and gaining that knowledge therefore afterwords. Getting great deals on either stages of a project or totally done car along with hard to find parts or leeds to get them. Posting of events and shows, my favorite is the local HAMB BBQ that lowsprings and the others that have helped him put that together and it's growing success. Props to you on that, Dante! What I am tryin to say in general is that it is the people that ya meet through this and all that has helped each one of us one way or another. Ryan and all the others that have laid the foundation to what the HAMB is today. I think it would be a great piece to watch on Discovery. Fellow HAMB'rs. Are ya with or against that idea? Feel free to speak yer mind! KNUX!

Opps!!!!!!!!!!!! Forgot to add. Thank you Ryan for the times that I have lost my p***word! I am getting absent minded with my old age now!!! KNUX!

  3. I'd kinda like to see the old formats once again.
Dunno if Ryan could put up a few pages of non-functional archival HAMB, but I'd love to relive old memories.

  4. Ya, I don't know if this has been done before, but if not I would love to see the various versions too. Us newer members could use a good schooling on the hambs history.

Hey Ryan, maybe this would be a good entry on the Jalopy Journal in the future?? What ya think?:) Just throwing ideas out there... again, mabey it's been done??

Though I understand that a lot of it "you had to be there"...:(

A show on national TV would draw thousands of bandwagon jumping newbies and cause membership to soar to the point where nobody recognised anybody else. We would be flooded with posts like "How do I turn my '84 Citation into a Rat Rod", "What is the proper length for my cuffs", and "Look at my cool new Von Dutch hat." Ignorant idiots(more bandwagon jumpers) would by buying HAMB t-shirts at Wal-mart, and the spirit of the HAMB would be completely dead. Think about it. Is that really what you want?

As far as Hamb's past, here's the Jalopy Journal page from when I joined, circa 2001

They would have to get Wilford Brimley to play me. Come to think of it, this is a bad idea!!!

  14. Believe me, there is stuff you really don't want to know about the early HAMB. Like the ritual sadomasochistic gay *** initiation parties, and "Aaron's oil change."

  15. Not to mention "LongDongPhong"....

uh, not to sound mean. But a HAMB TV show is not a good idea, to put it lightly. I think it's safe to say that they don't want us, and we don't want them.

Big A, you beat me to it. The Rude Boyz and the dream ride post are cl***ics.

Edit: I think shows about certain HAMBers would be way cool. Follow some of these guys through a build and show what they go through. B***, for example. There would be some much technical interest, and enough natural drama, that it would make good TV. By natural drama, I mean deadline of the Roundup and just the whole "can I figure how to make this work" tension. There is always somebody building a great ride around here.
