Event Coverage Vintage drag races in Texas

I've recently heard the news that the Day of the Drags in Temple Texas is not going to be put on anymore. I have been going to that race for the last four years as a spectator and really enjoyed watching some old tin ripping it down the strip. Im left now to see if there's any places in Texas that still hold races for the HAMB friendly cars ? I've been to watch other drag races but I just can't watch imports buzz down a strip anymore .

Too bad about the Day of the Drags. Come to the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green Kentucky in the middle of June. In my opinion the best rod run in the country. Non stop nostalgia drag racing. Definitely not a lawn chair event.

Really sad to hear this. Was my favorite nostalgia drags, made six of the last seven meets.. A member named "chettar" used to put on nostalgia drags also, but 2015 was the last year for his event. Some guys ran in both events which was pretty cool. Both events were real layed back, you were able to mix with racers as there was no specific pit area at either event. Sad day.

 

Man, I'm gonna miss Day of the Drag Race. Had a lotta fun running the old Studebaker at that race. Hopefully someone will come up with a similar race. Sure was a lotta fun. Thanks to the Kontinental's for some really good times.

It seems that every track has a nostalgia type event on their calendar. Good luck.

Hate to hear about this event going away. It was the perfect place to have it.
Many "Thanks" to the Kontinentals for your time,trouble and dedication to our hobby for the last few years of racing you guys gave us.
Car show/ gatherings are cool; but nothing beats watching/driving those old cars down the track.

 

Legends Nostalgia Racing took over the October date when the Kontinentals decided to move their date to July a couple of years ago.
I see on Little Rivers site they have Day of the Drags listed for Oct 21 maybe Legends will get this date.
