Lowering the front of a 58 Edsel

    I just got me a 58 ranger still stock & not ready for the streets yet & before I take it out I want it low mind sending me or posting a pic of yours I want to see how aerostar springs look.

    HE CUT 1-1/2 COILS. That usually lowers it 2" per coil, so about 3"?

    What shocks are you all running in the front with it being lowered??

    Well that was easy. Thanks all.

    Got a set of MOOG CC851 from rockauto for $56. Not as short as Aerostar coil.

    Jacked then stands on both sides. Took off the wheel, removed shock, removed the stabilizer link, cotter pin, backed the castle nut off .25". Whacked the arm next to ball joint, couple hits and it popped and dropped the .25"

    Put 2nd jack under lower arm, jacked car way up with jack #1 and used #2 to slowly lower arm after taking off the castle nut.

    Spring hardly went boing in pocket and then a gentle nudge with pry bar it fell straight off. (there is a wee lip that keeps it from sailing off)

    Reversed process, easy peasy. You will want a second hand to work 1 jack and to wiggle drum while raising lower ball back into place.

    Dropped it about 3.25" Looks nice now. Off to the rear.
