Your truck is boss! As for the whole thing, I would lift the front of the engine 2-3 degrees and call 'er done. Drive it a year with the SBC, then mix it up down the road with the flatty. Get several years of enjoyment out of it.

You'll be seeing pics of my large hoop hauler soon, Rolling a set of Pre-WWII DUBS with 35"s Biased on the rear, ah owwww! So yes I really like what you got going there. Divcos are extremely cool, and even cooler when I know you got a good deal and put them to good use.

I think what I'll do is drop the trans mount. It's just tacked in the frame. Then I'll set my pinion angle to match.

    Stay tuned!

  7. small block chevy pans (and most others I've seen) have a built in angle to dump to the sump. If angle was all that bad in carb floats, the car would run ****ty up and down hills (angle changes). Nothing looks worse than valve covers and headers angled the opposite way of the frame and body. Car looks like it was broke in half, then welded back together by somebody that couldn't. On simple straight forward cars, angles and site lines mean everything. When the motor is hidden by hood and fenders, the only angles that count are driveline. IMHO.

Well...I did it. I dropped the trans mount a couple inches. It gave the engine @ 3 degrees. The carbs still appear to angle forward but not nearly as bad. I'm gonna run it.
Would post pics but they always come out too dark to see when taken in my garage.:(

    Josh,
You need to make sure the rearend angle and the trans angle are in the same plane. 3 degrees up at the rearend and 3 degrees down on the trans. This will level the manifold. No need to touch the carbs. The attached is mounted in a 32 frame with the above angels and you can see the carbs are level. It might be hard to tell but they are level.
