I started this build about 2 years ago right around this time. ASR rails, ch***is egineering center X member, model A front, my own flat rear. Has a repop dropped 32 heavy running a mono leaf. Rear is a Posies 40 style with the adjustable super slide kit. Running a 302 and a Fox body Mustang Worldcl*** T5 with an S10 tailhousing. Started with a POS gl*** 3 window body, built the ch***is collected parts. In process I got a better job and decided to build my "Dream Hot Rod". Talked to the guys from BeBop's at the Louisville Nationals, pretty much sold me when they told me to bring them my ch***is and they would build the body around it. Well picked it up yesterday, gonna start body work soon. Hope to be on the road in the spring.
Got my column all finished and mounted today. Hoping to have the radiator and grill shell mounted tomorrow. Talked to the guys at HoosierHoods their run of hoods should be finished next week. Ordering a stock 4 piece 25 louver side. After that is fitted it will be blown apart for paint.
Been some time. Bought a 1966 Mustang coupe from a buddy to finish and flip and it turned into a year long process. But doubled my investment, so its all good. Just a few things left before I can blow it apart for paint. Finish my pedals, run fuel system, remake the driver side header.
Back at the beginning of December we moved everything around to make room for more activities. Fast forward to today, spraying the jambs and last coat on the exterior tomorrow. I want paint on this thing before I leave for LoneStar with my buddies. Last but not least my son has been helping me as much as he can. This is the future of Hot Rodding my friends.
Well still making head way. My buddy that is painting the car helped me pick a color. It was in an old Dupont paint book GM Fleet Blue. Since we are in Ohio we are calling it SOHIO Blue.
Looks like you have a really nice project going. Looking forward to more photos as the build progresses. The Bebop body is a pretty nice piece. The only thing I didn't like when researching bodies for mine, was the fact that the door hinges are installed like a roadster and not a coupe. Good luck with the build. Bill
Yeah the hinges are the ONLY thing I didn't like. But he had a good "reason" being the weight of the door on the gl***. Dad ended up selling the 3 window body to a guy in Tenn.
Well ch***is is pretty much ready for the body, dad and I are finishing the exhaust tomorrow. I am a idiot and had my 16" Wires powder coated and mounted my new tires. Then came to realize they don't clear 11" drums. So my 40 Ford 16's are at the coater now. O yeah this happened today, he is spraying the clear on it as I type this. HUGE PUSH for the NSRA Nationals in Louisville. It will be mobile but FAR from finished.
