  1. This is awesome! I spend a lot of time fishing Maryland waters and the weirdest thing i caught was half a picnic table.

Shitty part is I had 2 v8 60s for years one with edelbrock heads and a smith Jones dual carb intake I sold them 2 years back. I think a flathead 6 would be cool tho my buddy wants to use all the cast off model a parts I have and make it banger powered.

A hotrod minesweeper, I love this whole story so much, and I'm super glad you guys were able to get it out in one piece, even if building it into something will require cutting it all up anyway.

Since you now know that is part of a minesweeper, is it full of sophisticated electronics?

Nah just mud and foam from reading it's just like a float that used to be pulled behind a ship and had cables that pulled up the mines so they could be deactivated.

Keep the boat parked between it and the house. You may be able to hide it for months.

  10. That looks much bigger than your normal belly tank. Any chance of some basic measurements of the mine sweeper, and a normal belly tank, for comparison?

Is your buddy or you keen to keep documenting the build, and posting on this thread, cause I'm sure a lot of us would love to watch.

Thanks guys. My buddy is going to be doing some household projects before we start but we're probally going to slice it horizontally and pull all the junk out of it soon just to make it easier to move around so the "build" won't start for a wile. As far as the measurements of it I can get some it's definitely bigger than a normal drop tank but not nearly as much as the picture makes it seem that trailer is super tiny and I don't know why my son looks so small on it. I'll try to get a better picture this weekend for size reference.

You'll be glad of the size when you go to squeeze a motor, driver, and all the machinery in there.

not to change the subject but what are your plans for the Feather Craft Clipper? Been trying to find one for years (that's not 3000 miles away) not to many make it out to the West coast.
