got some fun info for you all.
any fans of the 1996 movie "*******s" ? well actor jon favreau was one of the stars in that film and has registered for vlv with his 32 roadster. will be curious to see what the car looks like. it might have been talked about on here allready but rumor has it favreau will be producing/directing a film about the history of hot rods real soon.

just to touch on the car show subject one last time here is some info for those that might not know.

allthough vegas is sold out over 100 tickets will be sold thursday at 1:00 p.m. inside the dance hall where registration normally is.

car show will remain on the top parking lot like allways.

looking at the amount of pre registered cars, the top lot should be full like allways. we've got cars registered from conneticut, alberta & toronto canada,up state washington, ohio, indiana, idaho, texas, florida, virginia, new york, and all over the west .

many special guests will include "davey deuce" and his friends with original 50's built hot rods on display.

the big john mazmanian willys g***er.

gene winfield and a surprise 60's custom rod.

gambino kustoms and all the boys from the northern bay area are bringing a new giant tiki / bar

also, dont miss the outlaw go-cart races to be held thursday and friday night on the south ramp.

many other surprises and special guests!

this years band line up is probably the best i've seen!

look forward to meeting a lot of you!

this years VLV car show is dedicated to the memory of a dear friend "HOT ROD PETE FIORITO" . a gathering in his memory will be at the car show saturday at noon.

also, a hamb gathering will also happen at the same time same location.

    thanks, axle www.vivalasvegas.net

Is the car show part "sold out" or can people still go to that, because that is the only reason I am going and I just want to know I can get in. I heard some **** happened last year and they changed some stuff.

the car show will remain free for "walk-in's" on saturday. you need a wristband to stay up on the lot late at night. as far as bringing a car in ,if you havent registered a car they will accept further registration along with selling more tickets on thursday at 1:00 p.m.

Jon Favreau is a funny *** dude. A great director. He was awesome in "Rudy". I wonder if he's tapped in here......?

yes thats true axle, but I was just giving the guy a little bit of a hard time cause he said he just got his haircut for a car show. Not trying to disrespect all the hard work you and the shifters put into this show.

Is it true that A&E is doing a special on VLV? I know they did the Rides episode on the Choppers and "Rat Rods" a couple of years ago.

man, favreau's got a deuce? how cool izzat? *******s blew my mind, been a fan of favreau, vaughn and livingston ever since. those three have done some pretty great movies, most everything they touch kicks ***. wish i was goin to viva...

here's the lowdown as i could find it so far on the movie on the hemmings site:

    Street Rods and Hot Rods
Hot Rods on the Silver Screen
A couple months ago in this space we mentioned Hot Rod Girls Save the World, an independently produced B-movie that prominently features hot rods. Now we hear word of another hot rod movie, but this one with more recognizable names at the helm.

Hollywoodreporter.com reported in November of Johnny Zero, an action drama from Jon Favreau set to be released through Columbia Pictures. Favreau debuted when he wrote and starred in the 1996 hipster flick, *******s, and more recently has directed Elf and Zathura.

The Web site released few details of the movie, but said that Johnny Zero will chronicle “The birth of the hot rod movement in the years after World War II,” and that “Favreau is a self-described hot-rod enthusiast.”
Expect a release sometime late in this decade. No word yet on how historically accurate Favreau will make the film.

Though he was Gutter in PCU in '94 and D-Bob in Rudy in '93... PCU is funny to watch because he looks so damn young...

PCU was hilarious. If I see him down there, I'm gonna ask him to do the Chicken Dance.
