After much consideration I have decided to put Billetproof up for sale. I was recently diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer that has spread to my lymph system. The shows will continue to happen, however the surgeries and chemotherapy make it difficult. While my prognosis is good, I would like to p*** the show along to someone with the enthusiasm and energy that the shows and races deserve. The past 10 years running the show have been such an amazing good time that I know I'll miss it, but I know the new caretaker will have even more fun. If you are interested in being that person, email me - alan@billetproof.com or call 916-207-4645

^^^^ yup. colonoscopy. weird thing to talk about on a car forum, it is not as bad as one might think, plus you are a bit loopy with drugs. I had digestive issues and it seems like every pain or fart was going to be cancer in my mind. came out with a clean bill of health and just that knowledge alone was worth he price.

Just so everyone knows... the shows will go on as scheduled. I'm leaning heavily on the great friends and family that I have to make sure they all occur. But its just time for there to be a new caretaker.

Alan.....this is damn sure winnable. I just went through a two year cancer battle that started off not looking good but clean bill of health now. New treatments in cancer research seem like the're coming out daily. Keep givin' it hell and best of luck to you buddy. Guys, as stated above, get a physical every year and start scheduling a colonoscopy and prostate exam/PSA after age 50.....or earlier if family history dictates it. Being there for family is a precious thing.

Cancer can be beat but you'll take a beating as well....hope for the best for you. My oldest survivor and a pretty dish at that - had her pair of 36dd's taken off in the early 80's....had only a little hick up since....and she's still a beauty !

So sad to hear. With good prognosis and a lot of good vibes you'll be fine.
I'm sure there's plenty of good vibes coming from the HAMBly.
I hope you find a buyer.

Alan, hang in there. What your going through is beatable. My wife was diagnosed with stage 3B eight years ago, she recently had a follow up Colonoscopy and everything was fine. Prayers sent for a quick recovery.

A friend was diagnosed with it about the same time I had a shoulder reconstruction. A few years have now elapsed and he has his health back. A minor blip on the radar and with the support of friends and family you will be back to good health before you know it with everything a distant memory.
I'll certainly be following up soon with tests funded by our Federal Government for us oldies over 50. Who knows, if my friend had undertaken the test sooner rather than later, there was a chance that he could have avoided surgery. All the best from down under.
