Found a front end off of a 46 ford 3/4 ton truck. I just bought a 46 1/2 ton and would like to have some sheetmetal that is in better shape? Is the fenders on a 1/2 the same as a 3/4 ton or are the 3/4 ton fenders bigger??Can anyone Help me???

Front end is in New Castle, DE. Any reasonable way of transporting it to KY?

  2. Probably the cheapest transport would be to take it apart and carry it in a small pickup.

As for size, it would bolt on okay. The only possible difference would be the wheel opening size; the 3/4 ton could be bigger. Maybe the seller could measure the height and width of the wheel openings and you could compare to yours; that or make a paper template of the opening and mail it to you (folded up).

  3. I'm pretty sure you'll find that [until it was a 1-1/2 Ton]- all the lighter trucks shared front fenders.....

My concern is the wheel well opening being larger. My dad has a 1.5 ton. I am thinking that 3/4 ton is the same as 1/2 ton. But I want to make sure.

    Hi,
I have had prob 15 Chevy trucks 42-53, my experience is that 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton have the same fenders. 1 1/2 and larger trucks have bigger fenders.

    The 40-41 3/4 T used different sheetmetal.
The 48-53 1/2T front fenders were that model ONLY.

I have no info on those fugully 42-7 models but if all else follows the fenders at least have larger openings.
Ive a 43 1/2T and still looking for a 40-1 nose to adapt; gotta get rid of the original before I shoot it.

The 42-47 ford trucks need some lovin too. lol. I kind of like them myself. Don't get me wrong, I also like the 41. I have a 40-41 fender that needs some work. I have no use for it. Don't know where any rear fenders are do ya??
