Trying to decide on rear suspension for a ch***is I am putting together. Does the trunk floor need to be cut for clearance on an A crossmember? What is the spring perch centerline measurement when using a T spring?
On finished cars using this setup what is the ride height in the rear, measure from the top of the axle tube to the bottom of frame rail? Thanks

Most A crossmember installations require the rear floor to be modified for clearance. As far as height is concerned there are too many variables to make a definite statement. It involves the perches in relation to the axle centerline, the length of the shackles, the arch of the spring, the number of leaves, and the list goes on. Good news is that all of the above can be altered to get the desired height, it's just a matter of working with the components to get what you want. It's called "HOT RODDING", not paint by numbers.:D

i havn't used a T spring.if you use a A spring from posie, with a stock A crossmember, and mount it at the bottom of the frame rail, you will have about an 1 1/2"from the axle tube to the bottom of an uncut frame rail.i normally add a c-notch to gain another 2" of travel.the stock perch width for an A spring is 48".if you need it,posie makes one that is for 46" perches also.

here are some pictures of a ch***is i built.

    hope this helps.

So what do you think my ride height would be if I painted my spring blood red?
Thanks. This is what I am looking for. I may use an A spring. Beautiful work on that ch***is looks like about 400 hours there. Nice.
