1. what gaskets do I need to put chopped car front glass back in? 2. I assume it is possible to omit front and rear wing windows on a four door and go with one piece window? 3. What do I need to make it work without w/windows besides glass? any prior links or any assistance would be greatly appreciated
post some pics of what you are working on - what year? - did you cut the front glass already? - don't assume anything
Hey, Tom, here are a few things to think about : https://49fordcoupe.smugmug.com/DAMN-Windshield-gasketSS-trim/ https://49fordcoupe.smugmug.com/The-Doors/ https://49fordcoupe.smugmug.com
For gaskets use a stock gasket cut down and glued together with krazy glue. You can eliminate the center post by making the glass a little wider so it butts together, and seal the seam with clear sealer. This is an old Kustom trick from the fifties. For the doors you will have to relocate the front channel that the glass slides in, and make suitable glass.
The car is a 1950 four dour. And my post is 50 more door comments questions complaints. All the pictures are on their. Thanks for help! the post should be on pg. 1 as I just posted pictures a couple days ago.
1950 four door. No I have got to that point of glass work yet but I would like to know what to do when I am their. Thanks I have been really sweating this part and the body work.
Talk to Carson. .at..http://www.streetrodglass.com..he cut my glass for everything I needed....looks like you are a LONG way from needing glass
I just spent the last few weeks installing all the chopped glass in my '50. Just last week we did the front windshield. I made a cardboard template leaving 1/8" in the center to fill with black 3M bedding compound. The back window was laid as stock into the new chop angle. I made template for the rear side 1/4 glass, door glass and the wing windows. I can provide pics of specifics if necessary .For now I have in my file the windshield pics. Also a pic of the vertical center rubber I cut out from the stock weatherstripping.
