  1. In front of a 1930s or 40s gas station.....which was most recently used as a barber shop.
Sitting along old scenic Rt. 66 which runs through Joplin.[IMG] [IMG]

  2. Whisler's Hamburger place, Carthage, MO[IMG] .....there Is no seating inside, you just order "to go".
They used to cost 15 cents each......now a bit more.....but tasty. Go there from
    time to time.

  4. More five megapixel phone cam pics, from my cheapo phone.

This is the old Railways signal box, that's been restored, and now sits a few hundred yards down from its original location.
Behind it, is the floodwall IMG_20170220_111649.jpg , that keeps the town from flooding.

  5. This is the old historic Miners hall, about ten minutes away from my town, in a little mining town, called Runanga.
This hall was burnt down, in 1932, by a disgruntled miner, and rebuilt by around 1934.
My old school art teacher, Les Holmes, recreated the old signage some years back, but it too, has succumb to the elements. IMG_20170302_194951.jpg

A gennie old Craftsman house in town made for a nice background, at least I think. 47 Super Clipper, a factory 'hot rod' of sorts with it's 356 CI straight 8 and O/D. IMG_20161029_144830908.jpg

Yep! It was originally a "salvaged" truck without grill, hood, & headlights. My dad adapted passenger parts to make it work......A '50's custom.

First 70 degree day of the season. Headed down to the lake for our famous Abbott's Frozen Custard, and a nice walk along the beach and pier. My Nephew sent "Flat Stanley" to Rochester from Carolina for a visit. Stanley joined us for the ride and is getting his picture taken at different sites to show my Nephew the places he is touring.

My tattoo artist took this picture, the Caddy is hers. She's been out for a quick ride in the Ford.

    Hey M,
Nice photo, your truck looks right at home. We took a ride on that train the last time we were up there in the valley. Very old time feeling going through the towns. In Calistoga, we stayed at a place that had a room with a view. The view was of a rock waterfall in the shower. It made anyone feel like they were taking a shower in the outdoors, while being indoors. That was very cool. We just happen to stumble on to this little place. A bed and breakfast place that had a fun vibe. You probably know of it locally.

It is on our list to stay again, if we ever get up there another time. That whole area is a fun drive in any kind of vehicle. A small tapas place in Napa had great food. The Artesa winery in the next valley west was impressive.

[IMG] this is in Calistoga and has been converted into a wine tasting spot for Tank wines, complete with a "lubrication" bar and a "speak easy". My truck was built at the end of prohibition 1933, coincidentally.

I grew up in Upper Lake. Used to go to the Sprint races in Calistoga. Is that track still there?

Shot this 11 o'crotch last night, Mars Auto Parts, Bay Shore NY. An iconic parts store for as long as I can remember, same owners from day 1.

Hey @kiwijeff , good to see the truck out and about. Have one of those beers for me. I have been too busy to hoist many myself.
