Looking around for wheels for the front of my 63 and I saw this pic, anybody know what wheels are on the front of this car? I dig em.
Radir III, with satin centers, 'custom caps'... Google them, still online available. But so are Americans......Torq Thrust...
If you will check the speedway catalog, they are called Rocket Strikes. They are one piece aluminum and are a repop of Radirs. Cragar made a similar wheel in the late 50's/early 60'S. I have 15X7'S ON MY 57' sedan.
Look a lot like Radirs. Thanks guys!! Not sure if I can talk myself into spending that much. But they're so cool looking!! might have to stick to torque thrusts.
oh dang, just looked. I think you're right, Rockets!! Very cool! Those might be doable for me! Thanks!!
Look like Mickey Thompson's - put a set on my '64 Malibu SS just before leaving for VN in '65. X2. I agree. Mickey Thompson's were the originals. Wheels without the ridge in the center of the spoke were Fenton's if my 70 year old memory is correct.
Sorry to divert the thread, but this 57 Ford is right on. Every time I see a thread with one of these, I have to comment. But, being a Chevrolet guy for the most part, I don't know the exact MODEL of 57 Ford this is; that, and as I understand, there were different wheelbase 57 Fords, depending on the model? As far as the wheels, I would have said Radir's, AKA Rader's (the original wheel company VS the new wheel company?), and copied in variation by several wheel vendors. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
The Custom and Custom 300 (the pictured car is a Custom with optional trim) were on a 116" wheelbase. The Fairlane and Fairlane 500 were on the longer 118" wheelbase and had swoopier body lines. The wagons/Rancheros were on the shorter wheelbase.
56sedandelivery, as Crazy Steve stated this is a 300 sedan. Mine has a 351 Windsor with a c-4 trans. It's not a hot rod just a good highway cruiser with some sweet gl***packs. I am mostly a chevy guy but I have always wanted a 57' 300 sedan. To Dewey and back home was well over 700 miles with no issues.
