Greetings all! The name's Jarrod, and found this in my hunt for parts and what not. AWESOME resource you guys got here!

A little bout me: Vintage vespa nut who rides with the Scarab Scooter Squad in Phoenix (one of the near-largest vintage motorscooter clubs on the west coast!! Don't believe us? Just go to a rally and try not to get molested by one of us:p), film student, follower of the Cult of MacGuyver, and anime freak.

A little bout the car: A 1962 Tempest Sedan with the top-end trim package (I gots the chrome fins and factory a/c in other words:p). Picked it up and DROVE it from Glendale to Mesa AZ (about 40 miles) for only $600! After rebuilding the carb, electrical, hydraulics and removing most of the rust I've only sunk $1900 total into it...and after I figure out how to stick 4 1-barrel carbs on it and a decent flat black job with a nice set of leather buckets....I MIGHT be finished with it:p But any advice would be welcomed from the more experienced and seasoned!

    Thanks for the space!

Jarrod, you sound like my friend Steve. Except he drives a Cavalier instead of a Tempest. Of course, he goes to Michigan State, so driving one to school would be a death sentance for the poor Tempest.

Anywho, wondering about your scooter affiliation: do you have the "Moped Army" down there or is it just a Michigan thing? It seems to have started (here at least) at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and spread.

There are a few members, but they're not anything big. The biggest group down here are the Tom Cruisers. Nice folks...went on a pub crawl with those guys along with most of the rest of the Vintage Vespa/custom cruiser bike clubs. Definitely sporting some of the rare ass French 'peds and such...quite a trip to see one of those pass your bike at 55mph!
