Used or NOS (New Old Stock) is your only option. Nobody is repopping trim as far as I know, only hard parts (mechanical and electrical parts) and interior fabric. Good luck with your search!

  3. if you are replacing all of it fender and door look for mercury trim it will work that's what I wound up with on my 53 ford

New trim is unobtainium. I got most of my trim either on the Ford Barn or on eBay. Put a wanted ad on the Ford Barn and on the main HAMB board.

If it is still there, just in need of some TLC, do some google search on repairing SS and see if you can fix it.. I am far from great but have saved a few pieces and equipped to buff to near show quality.

Thanks for all answers :) Reason why I asked is because I managed to make a big dent in the trim on the door...But I have taken it off the car , and have sendt it to a guy who fix Stainless steel trim.
So Hopefully when I get it back its all good :)
But again , thanks for the help guys :)

I bought a piece of NOS fender trim on eBay... I knew it was coming and waited for the mailman, but he got past me and the box showed up looking like a hockey stick. If I caught the mailman, I would have refused it. It was just put in a square long box by itself. I negotiated through Pay Pal and got 1/2 my cost of the part back and the shipping costs back. So the piece cost me $23 when the dust settled. My brother straightened it and it looks like new, but it took him a while. The part is easily worth $100 to $150 as a NOS item.

I sell on eBay and the Ford Barn and the main HAMB cl***ifieds. I get tons of round shipping tubes from work, they just get tossed anyway. When I need one, I grab one. I tie the trim to a piece of cheap 1 x 2 lumber and pad it.

I figure I was lucky to find all 6 pieces of NOS trim for our Ranch Wagon on e-bay,the trim that was originally on the car had lived a rough life,it's repairable but I replaced it for a less than half of what a professional was going to charge me to hammer it & polish it. HRP

I just got a piece of trim for my Ford in the mail. I had emailed the seller right after I paid and gave a few tips on how to pack up the trim. Well, the trim got sent before he read my message. It shows up last week... bent. The box looked like a hockey stick. So it goes back this week.

This was a used piece but good to use, maybe a few dings that could be fixed. Showed it to my brother, he said to send it back, no fixing that one.

Yup. The stupidity of people astounds me. I have had the 81" rear fender trim shipped and packed right. How someone can muck mailing up a 58" piece...

If you build a fire for a man, he will be warm today. Set the same man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Bob, call me warped but I like that.

Ok , after like 2 months of waiting Im reciving my repaired stainless trim next week.

But how is the best way of mounting it ?
I think of putting the clips inside the trim , then hold it onto the door while I mount the nuts to clips from the inside...is this the way of doing it ?

Reason why im asking is I dont want to fu** anything up , haven't done this before hehe.

I would try clips inside the trim where possible. Tape up the door if you think the finish may get scratched in the process.
