Here is what my 54 F-100 is looking like. I like reading all the responses(good and bad) on everyone's projects so I thought I'd post these to see what'cha guys think. So far a buddy of mine pancaked the hood an 1 1/2",then we c-notched the rear and flipped the axle, roll pan and put in the 60 Chevy truck grille. got the 4" drop mono leafs for the front, waiting on the 3" dropped i-beam.Gonna re-wire it, chop it and put in 65 Impala taillights(not all six, just one per side).See ya'all at Paso!!!Thanx.
Thanks! Oh yeah,we took about three inches outta the center of the grille and sorta peaked it or gave it a slight v shape.
Very nice Headless! I just love old pick-ups. Good for parts runnin'. Got a color picked out yet? Josh
Yup. Gonna do a pea green with darker candy green panels, maybe lace, and do the rims with the same greens-like a sixties type fade(rims).
Thanks, man!! Gonna make a metal tonnau(?) cover that goes from about a foot from the cab end of the bed(first foot will be a built in gas tank)hinged and will extend to the end of the bed and down to the roll pan. Then be covered in louvers.
Love them old p'cups. Truck looks supe solid. I have a 52 F1. Not a custom just a hot rod. Later,Bill
Thanx!! Blue Oval Truck Parts says the dropped I-beam is in the mail!! Sorry guys, I'm using a 3" dropped I-beam and 4" dropped mono leafs up front and c-notched and flipped the rear. No clip and no baggage!!!
Heyman, thanx!! I really like yours, too! I actually was checking it out the other day on another website that I won't mention the name of but it's "a place to meet friends"!!!
Cool man....I would love to talk traditional lowering with you. Mine sits just under 5 inches off the ground. Would like to get it a tad lower.
sweet jesus thats gonna be *perfect with the pea green/darker green flake/lace and bellflower-style touches.. GO FOR IT! SEE YA AT PASO!
ahh u bastards that live in dry climates!! u can't run baremetal here for a week before rust starts to show up....
That truck looks awesome, nice work! how big of a chop do you plan on giving it? how long has it taken to get it to the stage its in now? oh ya, your signature quote is sweet, harry carry from snl, i always quote that but no one gets it "if the moon was made of spare ribs would you eat it then? I know i would, i would have seconds and then i would polish it off with a tall budwieser!"
I really like the work so far, and your plans for the future sound right on. Can't wait to see the final product.
That truck is pretty wild. I'd like to see two taillights per side, goes with the two headlights, although the taillights would be vertical. Two tone green panel paint should be wild.
Hahaha...yeah, we were gonna leave it bare metal and do the running boards and a 1" stripe around the bottom of the truck, but I decided just to paint it all.
Uh...not sure on the chop yet. I believe 3" to 3 1/2". Thanx again everybody for the possitve responses!!! ...and yes I love the Batfink!! Hey Seango,"What's your favorite planet? Mines the sun!"
Its deffinately comin together! Cant wait till its done, i have a little more paint to strip, but not much at all.. i think it needs a labotomy...
Yes, Tony,it does need a little off the top!! Thanx for all the hours of brushing on stripper and scraping of paint! (at least Todd had the ideal to put plastic over the thinner to keep it wet and eating thru more paint!!)I definetly can't wait for it to be done,I WANT TO DRIVE IT DAMN IT!!!
