Hey fellas, So I think I may have did things a little backwards and need some help. Does anyone have and tips for installing the shackle bushings from the rear? It's a tight fit and being my first time doing this I figured someone should have some idea to make things a little easier. Thanks, George
First put some jack stands under the axle, then use the jack with a small block of wood and put it under the eye. Jack it up CAREFULLY, with the pressure off of the shackle install the bushing and then the end of the shackle. Do this one side at a time and use the jack first to undo the other side.....the spring is under some pressure so watch it.
Not if you do the Jack trick and if you use some rubber grease. With the Jack, make sure everything is square and it should slip together almost.
Also you might try some oil lite bushings, I have them in the '28 ( front and rear) but they haven't seen the road yet. I got tired of replacing the rubber and plastic ones. https://limeworksspeedshop.myshopif...*is/products/oil-lite-bronze-shackle-bushings
