RANCHER1.jpg I've loved customs ever since I saw a custom shoebox on the streets of Butte, Montana in 62.!
You've probably all seen this, but here's my contribution to the world of customs.. Chopped 1 3/4 ,rounded hood corners, blended skirts, frenched headlights, custom grille treatment, custom woodie woodwork.

The chopped sedan was advertised on the HAMB classifieds not long ago.

Completely taken with the postwar Lincoln flower car. It's obviously chopped and built from a 4 door sedan with maybe a Continental rear section. But is it also sectioned? Hard to tell from this angle. Outstanding! Where is it now?

  14. It's actually an Australian "ute". Belongs to member @Asphalt Demon

"Yes Mo! Lincoln zephyr fenders stretched 10 inches to mimic a lincoln rear .When i bought the ute it had very bad rear quarters and was unable to find replacements,so i went looking for alternatives, perfect how the swage line matches the fords front fender that trim is ford on the rear fender. It took two attempts to get a set to Australia after the first set got lost in shipping!Luckily my car club mates found me another set while in the u.s and shipped em over! The rear bumper is made up of two ford bumpers lincoln overriders and wingtips with a chev crossbar! johnny, This car is a work in progress and may still get fadeaway fenders"

It must be the Okie/farmer DNA in me I love UTE's . They look like something a Farmer built thing to get the job done on a shoe string budget . Ma load up the kids we are heading to California the banks done took the farm.
Fade away fenders on the Black Ute would be icing on the cake to me. Hope the owner builds them.
Post 5373 where did they find all the square drawer pulls for the grill that's nice .

    That`s a 58 Buick grille.
I tried to fit one in my car, but couldn`t get it to work. I did find square door pulls at our local lumber yard. He had to special order them. 100 at a little more than 3 bucks a piece and they are stainless. He did give me a discount. Menards carries a square one too, but they are about 5 bucks a piece.

Thanks for the continued interest in the ute ! I have recently got a hold of some spare doors, and had the guys on the photoshop thread, do a lengthened three window conversion. By using the fronts of the door tops on the back of lengthened door so. What do you all think?fadeaways would come after that's done. Currently working on the project I started before the ute , so it'll stay on the road as it is for a while.Johnny image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Had me confused for a second with the "three door" comment. I realized you meant three window. Looks good.

  21. I do like the 3 window treatment on the Ute. It makes the cab appear larger and the proportions are much better!

Here's a shot of my brother's '54 Caddy with a '58 Buick grille, took two grilles to complete this one. Buick's grille comes in sets of only four squares high. Had to build a framework first, the attach each set of four to the framework... IMG_7358.JPG Took us a couple of weekends to get them looking correct and follow the curve of the bumper and grille but after it was done we were pleased.
