Since they weren't mass produced I wonder what that '30 3-window is worth today?

Henry had his shit together no question about that.

that there "not mass-produced" body is a cabriolet sans the upholstered top - not a 3w....well, technically, I guess it would be a 3w...after all...

That tour shows an amount of fenders similar to what I've thrown away building hot rods over the years...

    with stupendous sesquipedalian superfluosity,

Interesting how little stamping presses have changed in 76 years. I'm pretty sure the presses I've seen in photos of Brookville's factory are identical to the ones in the Ford Plant pictures. Or maybe they bought them from FoMoCo!

All of the presses in The bobcat factory here in ND are WW1 Refugees, that have just been maintained, and reworked as needed, we have a half dozen 2000 ton Bliss 1912 year model presses here that are still in use.

I've often wondered about what happened to some of the tooling used on these early cars. Henry was a master of outsourcing waaaaaay before it became a household expression so there had to be a lit of tooling scattered around. Most of it has likely been lost to time.

It's very possible that brookville has one? of the old manufacturers presses..

I think Bob Drake (reproductions) is King of rooting out old of Fords old presses and dies.

It doesn't hurt that Bob Drake has a Close relationship With Ford Motor Company. He probably has insider information as to where many of the dies and presses etc. got sold to.

One thing is for sure, Those old 20 thru 50s presses are extremely robust and aren't going to fall apart anytime soon.

Heck, they'll probably still be churning out parts for another 50 years (or more)...

I wouldn't say that about any of todays tooling..... Everything today is designed around the theory of "Planned Obsolescence" (Thanks to Alfred P. Sloan, you as$h@!!).

There was a time that industry tooling was exempt from haveing planned obsolescence built in, But not any more. Everything is designed to fall apart so you'll have to buy another one thus adding to "The Companies Profit Margins". ?uck u Alfred P. Sloan and everything you stood for and everything you've brought us....

"""Clever manufacturers would couple this planned obsolescence with a cosmetic change masquerading as an improvement to fool the consumer into thinking that he got his money's worth, when in fact he was really being ripped off, paying twice for what should have only been bought once."""

I got the same feeling, that whole kid in a candy store but you cant buy anything! God if only I could have an hour, just one damn hour in that place with a big ass flat bed and a huge winch, although I would be so excited and running around Id probably go into cardiac arrest and totally screw myself over.
Oh ya, did anyone else notice the really old ships docked in the canal outside the ford factory in the birds eye view, those things look old!

He does sell from the acreage.....

I wuold imagine that more than a few are 'keepers'.

Many will and have ended up as hotrods, customs and restores over the last 25 years.

As far as pricing goes, I think he knows what he's got......

I'm going to try and make it up there this spring (on my wasy to the family farm) and will have my digital camera with me.
I'd like to get 'singular' shots of the more interesting stuff...

I'll also try and tour the Reynolds yard in wetaskiwn. I haven't been thru for about 5 years but the pasture is well organized and probably contains 500 to 600 cars. Most of the chevy'Ford stuff is long picked out by what's left is a real 'walk thru history' of teens thru 50's off brands. The bulk is 20s and 30s. touring, not so much hotrod material as fascinating history. The last time I was in there, he had a neat 36ish Pontiac Business coupe that went for $1000 US. It did have some major (accident) issues though....

    more Alberta clunkers...

Some of the assembly plant pics were marked and dated as July 31 1931.............

    So do the math.
