I am interested in their "FORD FULL SIZE POWER CONVERSION BOX
    52-64 FORD FULL SIZE"

    Part #800115

Has anyone used one on their ride? Thoughts, comments?

I have installed two. 67 Mustang and 57 F100. Steering column modification is big hurdle. They have and excellent technical dept and will guide you with problems you may encounter. You have to use rag joint or vibration style universal. Box doesn't like direct connect.

  3. That is a Borgeson box, recognize the part number. I would shop around by the part number alone for the best price. Any issues you deal with Borgeson and not the dealer.

They want $579 for it which I thought was high. Was not sure if it was something they modified or some else off shelf part.

  5. Used a CPP power steering kit in my 57 f100.
Their tech dept is very helpful along the way.
As mentioned, the marriage of the existing steering column to the rag takes takes some planning.
Biggest issue has been the box itself which had a manufacturing defect that was known but slipped past the inspection process. They sent me a fix after it was discovered.
The box has weeped fluid pretty much since the start.
They stand behind it but R&R sucks.

On my 68 Mustang like the others were saying the Borjeson box didn't line up to center of the firewall hole where it connects to the column. I ended up grinding a bit of the mounting flange on the rear end of the box and fabbing a wedge shaped washer / shim on the front mounting tabs. This put it centered in the column .Aside from this ,it is a great box.

Used their steering box on my OT 56. I was very happy! That and the Heidts A frames with the added caster made a heck of a difference. Car drove nice.

  9. I've seen them higher, do a part number search and see who has it for less. I've seen it as low as $550 to $560 on eBay. I'm sure everyone sells the same thing, they just put their whack on top of the price. I'm considering one for my Ford.
